Hot melt

PANEL PROCESSING

In the sequence below is shown a classical panel processing, composed by a wood frame, honeycomb inside and plywood covers or similar.
Pictures are pretty clear and simple and sequence could be applied to a wide range of materials (metal, glass, stone, plastic, etc) for the internal part as for the external one.

The line is normally composed of:
- conveyor at the beginning of the line;
- rolls coater (hot melt roller coater) HGS OMMA completed with melting unit to feed the hot melt adhesive automatically on board of the machine;
- composition belt, equipped with a motorised device in order to stock cover materials:
- rollers press.
In according with customer requests, the system could be completed and integrated with all devices, motorised or not, automatic or not, for charge and discharge materials and as help to the operators.

Operating modalities:

  • panel is aligned on the first conveyor against a lateral reference guide and is introduced into the hot melt rolls coater (pict 1). Composition belt is provided by a mobile trolley for cover’s stockage; the operator commands the advancement of the trolley (pict 2) by a foot pedal, takes the bottom cover and puts it on the belt in according to precise references.
    Then he sends back the mobile trolley (pict 3).
  • Composition belt is also equipped with slides, protected with anti-adhesive materials, and a motorised arm (pict 4);
  • panel glued come out from the rolls coater and is sustained by the motorised mobile arm (pict 5).
  • this arm accompanies the panel as soon as the rear part slips on the anti-adhesive slides, placing itself on the cover previously positioned (pict 6). Then it move at the end of the composition belt (pict 7).
  • The operator commands again the advancement of the mobile trolley, takes the top cover and places it onto the panel (pict 8).
  • The composition belt starts and compound enter into the rollers press (pict 9).
Special characteristics of hot melt polyurethane adhesive HMPUR avoids the use of a classical flat press.

At the end of the process described for the manufacture of a panel using hot melt adhesive, the panel can be immediately moved, or picked up by suction cups and it is ready for the next operations.
It’s clear the big advantage in terms of productivity.
